THE FIRE MUST NOT GO OUT
Leviticus 6:13
The fire must be kept burning on the altar continuously; it must not go out. (NIV)
Read: Revelation 3:15-16
A fellow was frying chips, and after frying the first batch, the oil became so hot that he had to turn off the cooker. Since the oil was already hot, he was able to fry another batch without turning on the fire. However, he turned the cooker back on to reheat the oil for the third batch. This is what happens in the spirit realm.
If you have a gift or a calling to teach, preach, intercede, or lead worship, with an effective Holy Spirit-inspired life, the power of God will move mightily in your ministry. But when the fire goes out, you may function for some time, like the already-boiled oil, only to spark out for lack of power and intensity. Therefore, today’s Bible reading warns that you need to maintain the fire so it does not go out.
The main danger is that God can reject you when you are lukewarm. Revelation 3:16 says, “Because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.” Being on fire is the opposite of lukewarmness. In order to kindle the fire and last longer in ministry or your Christian journey, you must continually study the Word and pray.
Beloved, you can trigger the revival in the secret place if your fire has already gone out. Pray for the release of power and wisdom to stay conscious of God.
