THE CONDITION OF YOUR SOUL
Matthew 15:8-9 – “‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me (vs-8)

A man was trying to fine-tune one of his recent photos on the phone, and the more he worked on it, the finer the picture. However, the man soon realised that, despite all the adjustments, his posture in the picture had not changed. He could manipulate the colour and crop the photo, but the real him could not be edited.
The inner part of a human is of greater value than the outer expression because true worth is determined by the state of the soul. In the Bible reading for today, Jesus addressed the Pharisees and teachers of the law concerning the condition of their hearts. His emphasis was that they placed tradition above divine principles. For this reason, their worship and appearance in God’s presence contradicted their inner motives. In the eyes of people, the Pharisees looked perfectly holy, but they were hypocrites in God’s eyes. In the same way, as the man could not change his real self and position in the photo, no spiritual posture can be faked before God. People can fake attitudes, but their soul is what God judges.
Beloved, if your heart or inward experience is negatively contrary to your outward appearance, there is an opportunity for a transformation now. God is calling you to repentance and restoration. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. When you surrender to Jesus, you will receive a new personality, and the Holy Spirit will strengthen your walk with God. Come to Jesus now and enjoy the peace that passes all understanding.
