MORE THAN THIS!
Job 8:7
Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase. (KJV)
Read: Ephesians 2:10; Isaiah 64:8
Today’s Bible reading confirms that the process of life and human endeavours are a work in progress and can become bountiful. However, some circumstances may prevent people from achieving their divine purpose. It is important to look beyond every challenge and stick with God because there is glory at the end.
The Scriptures tell about Jabez, whom his mother gave a contrary name to at birth. He later realised that he was meant to be more than what he was. The boy cried to God in prayer and got a change of story (1 Chronicles 4:9–10). Likewise, going by David’s position in the family, he might never have known that he was meant to be king if God hadn’t discovered him among his brethren (1 Samuel 16:8–13).
Beloved, whatever has been limiting you, causing people to look down on you, and making you feel like a nonentity must be dealt with. There is a God who can help you overcome any difficulty and ensure that you fulfil your glorious destiny. God wants you to know that your current “shallow” position doesn’t define you. This is because a little seed makes a tree, which later becomes a forest. Keep persevering, praying, and being diligent; you are more than the situation (sickness, joblessness, marital delay).
Finally, never allow the issues of life to create a boundary for you, thereby making you associate with negative-minded people who discourage you. Instead, surround yourself with individuals who positively motivate and celebrate you. It will be well with you.
PRAYER
Hymn: I Must Tell Jesus – Elisha A. Hoffman (1893)
- Father, if I have belittled myself or trivialised Your workings in my situation, please forgive me and do wonders to advertise Your glory in me.
(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)
- Spend quality time praying in the Holy Ghost. Your eyes of understanding are opening up!
