THE WAITING IS A PROCESS
Psalms 27:14 – Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart be courageous. Wait for the LORD. (CSB)
Read: Isaiah 40:31
An elephant and a dog got pregnant. After three months, the dog gave birth to six puppies. Within a period of eighteen months, the dog had delivered two dozen puppies. This prompted the dog to ask the elephant if she was actually pregnant. “We became pregnant on the same day; I have given birth four times, and my puppies are now big dogs, yet you claim to still be pregnant. What is going on?” asked the dog.
The elephant replied:
“Friend, there is something I need you to understand. What I carry is not a puppy, but an elephant. I only give birth to one every two years, and when my baby hits the ground, the earth feels it. When my baby crosses the road, human beings stop to watch in admiration. What is inside of me is strong and mighty.”
Beloved, never judge your life and dreams by another person’s standards. Do not compare your vision with someone else’s insight. Stop losing faith when you see others receiving answers to their prayers. Instead, pray more and wait, as today’s Bible reading encourages. Your time is coming! It may look as if it is taking longer to fulfil your purpose when compared with others. But you are like the elephant, because what you carry is more than ordinary.
Your miracle is being processed, prepared, and packaged by God. By the time it is delivered, it will cancel your shame and delays, in Jesus’ name.
PRAYER
Hymn: Standing on the promises of Christ my King – Russell Kelso Carter (1886)
1. Father, please empower me with the grace and understanding to wait for my season.
2. Father, give me evidence that will shut the mouths of my mockers.
(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)
1. I redeem the foundation of today by the blood of Jesus and the fire of the Holy Ghost.
2. Lion of Judah! Consume any strange animal and any powers assigned against me.
3. Any tree or plantation representing my destiny. Blood of Jesus, deliver me and cut it down!
“When next they mock you, tell them, ‘My seed is greater.’”
