THE SACRIFICE!
Psalms 20:3 – May he accept all your offerings and be pleased with all your sacrifices. (GNT)
Read: Genesis 17:1-10, 22:1-18, 39; 1 Samuel 1-2; 2 Chronicles 1:1-12.
The Book of Genesis 18 records when Abraham unknowingly entertained angels, which triggered the birth of Isaac. The man proceeded to surrender his only son as a sacrifice to God. This remarkable feat and other things ensured that God fulfilled His covenant with Abraham. King Solomon is another example of a man who gave a sacrificial offering to God. The king gave a thousand burnt offerings in one day, and the Lord presented him with an opportunity to ask for whatever he wished.
Hannah also endured the cost of unwavering prayer and faith prior to the birth of baby Samuel. Similarly, Joseph, an upright man, did the odds to please God, especially when he refused Mrs Potiphar’s immoral offer. On this basis, God prospered Joseph through his gifting. Finally, the poor widow in Mark 12:41–44 gave all she had, and she was divinely recognised.
Beloved, the people in the above examples did something, in particular, to draw heaven’s attention because nothing happens for free! There are sacrifices to pay to hasten God’s promises for your life. What price are you willing to pay or already paying to enjoy the answer to your prayers? Think about this, because when you are selflessly devoted to God through praying and actively involved in pleasing Him, He will accept your sacrifices as confirmed by today’s Bible text.
PRAYER
Hymn: Showers of Blessing – Daniel W. Whittle (1883)
1. Father, please remember my prayers, labour of love, and offerings (mention).
2. Father, grant me the grace to give my all for You.
(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)
1. Give glory to the Lord and decree:
a. My flower will not fade away!
b. I am not a candidate for labour without favours and rewards.
2. Vengeance of the wicked, hanging over my head, break!
3. By divine grace, I shall not sow the wrong and abominable seed.
4. Every delay to my accelerated breakthrough expires today!
“Your divine remembrance is dependent on the volume and level of your input.”
