Psalm 37:24 – Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. (KJV)

A musician once sang that right from when a child is born, they start having enemies. Don’t be ignorant—everyone has an enemy. It does not matter whether you are successful in life or still climbing, there are people who want your downfall and don’t wish you well.

The Book of Esther has the story of Mordecai, who was an ordinary gatekeeper yet was chronically hated by the king’s right-hand man. Haman greatly disliked Mordecai because he was a Jew and refused to bow to him. What Haman did next was to organise the man’s execution. But as God would have it, the gatekeeper was instead promoted and announced on the streets by his enemy, who was also killed on the platform he had prepared for Mordecai (Chapters 6-7).

Beloved, despite his low rank, Mordecai was despised by his superior. There are people who would do anything to eliminate you because of your faith and opinions on matters. Some may seek your doom because they perceive a glorious future for you. Regardless of any opposition, if you hold steadfastly to God, your enemies will not only proclaim your rise but they will also be destroyed with their tools of wickedness, in Jesus’ name. I encourage you with our Bible reading that even though it seems the wicked are winning today, you will not eventually lose out because the angels of the Lord will back you up.

Hymn: Jesus Saves – Priscilla J. Owens (1882)

1. Father, please silence my hidden and known attackers with my good success.

1. Father, destroy every hindrance to the fulfilment of my destiny. Please, take me from the low estates to the very top.

2. Powers waiting for my demise, be consumed by shame and disaster!

3. Wherever I have previously failed, I will begin to rise above my limitations.

4. I retrieve and neutralise any secrets I have revealed that the enemy is using against me.
