Mark 2:1-12 (4) – But because of the crowd, they could not get him to Jesus. So they made a hole in the roof above him and let the man down in front of everyone. (CEV)

Read: Isaiah 41:10-14

A football manager told two talented young boys that whoever scored the most goals would be signed into the football academy. At a point, these lads had scored one each. To score the third, the first boy dribbled the goalkeeper and only needed to score into an empty post, but he decided to pass the ball to the other youngster to score. The boy who scored was Cristiano Ronaldo, while the passer couldn’t make it to the academy. Ronaldo later asked in curiosity why his mate didn’t take the chance. The lad, whose name is Albert Fantrau, replied, “Because you are better than me.”

There are helpers of destiny whom God has appointed to take you to the next level, just as the men in today’s Bible reading couldn’t rest until their friend was healed. These men went as far as breaking the roof to secure their friend’s deliverance. Jesus had a similar experience in Luke 23:26 when a man named Simon of Cyrene was compelled to help Him carry His cross in a moment of tiredness.

Beloved, one important prayer you should pray for yourself daily is that God should send you helpers like Fantrau and Simon of Cyrene who can assist you in times of weakness and need. When God sees your heart and your needs, He will prompt the hearts of men or institutions to assist you.

On the other hand, Frantrau now lives a good life because of the assistance he provided to Ronaldo, who is one of the greatest footballers of all time. Whatever good you have sown that seems forgotten, God has a way of paying it back. Continue doing good, and you will not miss your rewards, in Jesus’ name. Whatever blessings you have also received, be a blessing in return and assist others. This is because it is more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35).
