WIVES
Proverbs 12:4 – A wife of noble character is her husband’s crown, but a disgraceful wife is like decay in his bones. (NIV)
In marriage, two are better than one because ‘one will chase a thousand, two shall chase ten thousand’ (Ecclesiastes 4:9-11). When the couples were single, they worked independently and followed separate dreams, but now they must combine to pursue ten thousand (Deuteronomy 32:30). Today’s Bible reading focuses on the woman—when a wife has good qualities, she becomes her husband’s pride and gains his confidence because the man knows her worth (Proverbs 31:10-12). They both can conquer any obstacles and raise Godly generations.
On the other hand, there are women with characters that are capable of destroying their homes. Indeed, a woman who does things that shames her family is a destroyer. For example, an adulterous woman betrays her husband’s trust and can equally trigger his death (Matthew 5:27-32). When a wife disrespects her man, whether indoor or outdoor, she indirectly downgrades him because people will address the husband the way she presents him (Ephesians 5:22-33). Similarly, a woman can bring disrepute to her spouse through an unholy dressing. The reason is that the way we dress indicates our motives. A virtuous woman should be moderate in appearance and must cultivate the inner beauty that God delights in (1 Peter 3:1-7).
Every woman ought to examine her conduct to see if she’s working in line with God’s principles or constituting as an object of disgrace to the family. Two are to be united, not disunited says Amos 3:3. Therefore, work in love and unity with your husband. And to the man, nurture your wife because she is rare and worth far more than a diamond. May the Lord grant us the wisdom to keep our homes in Jesus’ name. Amen!

Hymn: More About Jesus – Eliza E. Hewitt (1887)
1. Father, take away from me any actions that can embarrass my spouse, children and relatives.
2. Father, rekindle my love for my spouse and children.
(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)
1. Lord Jesus, please repair the broken cord in my marriage and destiny.
2. Holy Spirit, please make me a righteous and worthy vessel unto honour.
3. Father, take oppression far from my environment, nation and the Church.
4. Father, uproot any negative third-party or influence on my home and Godly relationship.
