WHEN THE DELIVERER NEEDS DELIVERANCE!
Acts 19:11-17 (15) – One day the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know about, but who are you?” (NIV)
There are important lessons to be learnt from our Bible reading. Paul had performed extraordinary miracles because of God’s unction in his life. But the seven sons of Sceva attempted to imitate Paul by casting out demons in the name of Jesus. One day, the evil spirit replied to them, “Jesus and Paul, I know, but who are you?” What happened after was that the demon-possessed man gave them the beating of their lives.
The reason these men were attacked by the evil spirit was that they did not believe in Christ. Therefore, they lacked His authority (John 1:12). These sons of Sceva took the name of Jesus for granted, and they paid for it. There are so-called prophets, preachers, and people who take Christ’s name as a magical formula. These ones use the name of Jesus for business. They act as if they fear God and have His raw power to deliver, but they themselves need deliverance.
God’s wrath will catch up with every deceiver in sheep’s clothing. If you have been deceiving the public with a false identity in Christ, there is an opportunity for repentance now. Ask God to forgive and redeem you. When you do this, Christ’s name will start working wonders in your life and ministry. Overall, anyone who thinks they stand must examine themselves. Do not joke with God. He is a consuming fire who can burn any unclean thing. Ensure that your garments are clean, so you don’t incur God’s judgement like the sons of Sceva.

3. Any conspiracy organised against me, my family, neighbours, nation, and the Church, fail!
