WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?
Proverbs 23:7a – For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. (NKJV)
Thinking is the process of reasoning that connects the mind. The mind is essential because it lies at the root of our actions (Proverbs 4:23). Do you know that we don’t see things the way they are, but rather, we see them the way we are? For example, there is a possibility that a broken-hearted person will imagine that their next relationship may end up like the previous one. This is because our belief system is based on our experience (culture, religion, and history).
What is your experience and the things you regularly feed your mind? We can learn the act of being positive from the story of the Shunammite woman who experienced the death of her only child. In the face of sorrow, she fed her mind with good thoughts and declared that “It is well”. What happened after was that her declaration became a manifestation (2 Kings 4:8-37).
Today’s Bible reading confirms that what we constantly reflect on matters as much as our experience in life. As Christians, our mindset and utterances have the power to shape our reality because our words are spirit and life (John 6:63). Beloved, if your thoughts are full of negatives, perhaps you are defeated, have low self-esteem, or lack genuine faith, you must find your path in the scriptures and ask the Holy Spirit to take over. He will fill you with righteous thoughts even as you experience a turnaround!
PRAYER
Hymn: Take My Life, and Let It Be – Frances R. Havergal (1874)
1. Holy Spirit, I lay my life before You. Please renew my mind and body to conform to the divine agenda.
2. Father, open me up to the mystery of the word.
(THE MIDNIGHT PRAYER)
1. Father, please strengthen my faith to know that You can help me in all circumstances.
2. Any power awaiting the manifestation of evil prophecy in my life, family, and Church, be destroyed by fire!
3. Father, please make a way for me in the wilderness of life!
