VICTORY OVER THE HUNTER
Exodus 14:23-31 (30)
That day the LORD saved Israel from the hands of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians lying dead on the shore. (NIV)
A hunter typically trap animals, but there are also human hunters. We live in an evil world where the forces of darkness tame and terminate people’s destiny at their peak (Genesis 6:5). In today’s Bible reading, Pharaoh and his men chased after the Israelites to bring them back into captivity. On getting to the Red Sea, God parted ways for the deliverance of His children and to the destruction of the Egyptians. When we make God our backbone, He can save us from the slayers of joy and freedom.
Proverbs 16:7 says that “When a man’s ways please the Lord, He makes even his enemies be at peace with him.” An important lesson to learn here is that God fights for His people to the extent that their attackers would have tried everything possible but failed. Therefore, they would have no choice but to make peace with God’s children so as not to perish.
Beloved, are you on the Lord’s side and living to please Him? This is because it’s only those that honour God that can prevail over adversity (Deuteronomy 28:7). When you live a life of holiness, you will become God’s favourite like Israel, and any enemy that rises against you will trigger his own destruction. I encourage you to be intentional in your walk with God, and you shall win every known and secret battle in Jesus’ name. Amen!
