TIMES LIKE THESE

Proverbs 24:10 – Don’t give up and be helpless in times of trouble. (CEV)

A headteacher sacked the longest-serving teacher and replaced him with his own lover. The teacher went on to start a home tutorial and taught a student whose mother was the state commissioner for education. Following the examination, the student got the best result and the teacher received excellent recommendations to become a director on the education board. During the annual recruitment exercise, the headteacher was seen in the queue to be interviewed by the former teacher.

Life has a way of paying people back in their own coins. The tide turned for the headteacher and he needed the favour of the teacher. Also, if the teacher had not been dismissed, he would not have risen to become a state board member. When God is set to raise a person, He can start with a test, just as in the story of Joseph, whom his brothers hated and sold into the land where he eventually prospered (Genesis 50:15-21).

Beloved, if you have been wrongly sidelined or experiencing the downside of life, know that your challenges are ordinary distractions, you will surely rise, if you don’t give up! As seen in today’s Bible reading, be determined to persevere in the face of problems because “problems are not stop signs, but guidelines.” More importantly, surrender the issues of your life to Jesus Christ. He is the burden-bearer and your elevator to the mountaintop (Matthew 11:28-30). You will make it in destiny!

PRAYER

Hymn: In Times Like These – Ruth Caye Jones (1944)

1. Father, please transform my agony into my glory announcer (mention)

2. Father, give me ‘good problems’ that will activate faith-boosting testimonies in my life and family lineage.

(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)

1. Father, help me discover my divine purpose in life and the generational solutions that lie within and around me.

2. Father, please bless me, my family, my nation, and the church with helpers of destiny.

3. Please pray for your friends, pastors, families, the church, nation, and the vessel used.

4. Holy Ghost, breathe life into my soul.
