John 9:1-7 (4) – We must complete the works of him who sent me while it is still daylight; night will come when no one can work. (ESV)

Read: Ecclesiastes 9:10-12

Time is the currency of life. Those who understand the signs of the times are destined to be leaders because they maximise the day and the resources available to achieve success. Time discerners also do not allow opportunities to slip by without grabbing them. Today’s Bible reading chronicles the example of Christ, who recognised the need to do His Father’s work before it was too late. Jesus grabbed every opportunity to glorify God because He knew that a time would come when it wouldn’t be possible for Him to physically carry out the assignments anymore.

Beloved, I urge you to acknowledge and understand the centrality of time in all you do. If you want to accomplish anything tangible or fulfil your destiny, you must have a time plan like Jesus did and work towards it. The absence of timing in whatever you do is a lack of purpose and discipline!

On the other hand, if you feel you have wasted your life and that time has passed, know that when there is life, hope abounds. Forget the past, put your hope in God, and start afresh. God will accelerate your progress. Above all, make perfect use of your time to live for God and put smiles on people’s faces within your own capacity. God bless you, and all will go well for you, in Jesus’ name.

Hymn: Work, for the Night, is Coming – Anna L. Coghill (1854)

1. Father, help me understand the signs of time and the purpose of my existence.

2. Any time-wasters in the journey of my life, expire!

1. Father, put an end to the activities of darkness in my life.

2. Father, seal every leakage in the foundation of my life and glory.

3. Father, please command Your blessings to be permanent in my life, my family, and the Church.
