THE WORD ABOVE THE NAME
Psalms 138:2B – For thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. (KJV)
A name is not only an identity, it also signifies power and authority. The manifestations that follow whenever we pray in the name of Jesus show the efficacy of Christ’s name. But there is yet another powerful element that must accompany the use of God’s name. This is His word! As seen in today’s Bible reading, God exalts His word above His name and lives by His own rules. God’s word is so strong that it triggered the force of creation in Genesis 1.
Therefore, as children of God, we must rest in the unfailing ability of our Father’s word and apply the same grace to activate what He has promised us. For example, when the angel brought good news to Mary in Luke 1:26-38, she understood the potency of God’s word and the importance of activating it. Mary replied to the angel, saying, “Be it unto me according to thy word.” The testimony of this action was the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Beloved, whatever the condition, all you need is a word from the word (Bible) to counter every opposing opinion to God’s promises. When you find the word, activate it in your life by declaring it in Jesus’ name and believing it, or whose report will you believe? I encourage you to hold on to the One who prioritises His word, and you shall testify in Jesus’ name.
