THE SOWER AND EATER
Isaiah 55:10 – For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: (KJV)
Who wants to be a Millionaire is a show that gives participants the option to walk away each time they earn money and move to a new level. In one episode, a man won £500,000 with a question to get £1 Million. He risked losing the money if he got the question wrong, but fortunately, he answered the question correctly and won the prize. This can be likened to the sowing of seeds because many people may have quit after winning £500,000. But this man saw it as an opportunity to invest and win the star prize.
Take a deep thought about nature—almost everything originates from a process because life is about giving and taking. The proportion of what you get is a measure of your input, trust and determination. In 1 Kings 17:10-24, the widow of Zarephath had a last meal to feed herself and her son, after which they would starve to death. However, Elijah requested that the woman should prepare his food from the little she had. The woman followed the instruction and never lacked again. Later, her dead son was revived by the prophet.
Beloved, would you give your final pack of food to a stranger? Indeed, “it is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35). Today’s Bible reading says the rain waters the earth and causes it to yield resources for those who qualify for it. Do you fit the benefit of the showers of harvest? Are you a sower or attained the stage of the eater? You must check yourself because the rain will only germinate the seeds already sown. Isaac also sowed in the land and was exceedingly great (Genesis 26). If you desire to achieve great things, you must sow bountifully. There is a season of reward (Jeremiah 5:24). You won’t miss it, in Jesus’ name.
PRAYER
Hymn: Showers of Blessing — Daniel W. Whittle (1883)
1. Father, make me a sower so that I can be a divinely certified eater.
2. Commit to giving sacrificially to God. It could be your time, talent, money, evangelism or giving your valuables to the Church and the needy.
(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)
1. Father, by Your mercy, let my seed speak for me (Mention)
2. Whatever does not give You glory in my life, family, nation and the Church, Father, take it away!
3. Father, please set me free from the prison of fear, worry, affliction and shame.
A FRUITFUL WEEK
