THE SECOND HALF
Ecclesiastes 7:8 – The end of a thing is better than its beginning; The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. (NKJV)
On Wednesday, the 25th day of May 2005, AC Milan of Italy led Liverpool Football Club of England by 3-0 at halftime at the Atatürk Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey. All hopes were gone so that the Reds fans had started to exit the stadium. But power changed hands in the second half when Liverpool scored on the 54th, 56th and finally equalised on the 60th minute (3 goals in 6 minutes). Guess what? Liverpool eventually won the Champions League that night on penalties. What a historic day it was!
You may not be a football fan and wondering about the relevance of the story. However, it is to encourage you that it does not matter how the year has been for you; the good news is that you can still bounce back to finish well, such as Liverpool. If you study the life of Joseph in the Book of Genesis, you will discover that he had a very rough beginning. But, checking his latter days, he fulfilled his destiny! That is why I am so sure that despite the uncertainties surrounding your expectations for the year, the Lord shall help you accomplish your desires in Jesus’ name.
Beloved, be inspired by today’s Bible reading which affirms that “Better is the end of a thing…”. Your experience from January to date cannot compare to the glorious days and months ahead. Therefore, you want to pray that all your plans that could not manifest earlier must find fulfilment from today.
