2 Corinthians 5:11–21 (17) – This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! (NLT)

Read: Acts 9:1–19

A man was given a name that meant “protected by the gods”. Meanwhile, nobody exceeded a certain unripe age in the family except those who offered sacrifices to the gods. When this man reached that age, he experienced spiritual attacks and lived in constant fear. He visited several places, all to no avail, until he accepted Christ, got baptised, and changed his name to a Biblical one.

On the day the gods sent a messenger of death to eliminate the man, the spirit could not locate him because he had a new name. However, because the messenger had to take someone, he took the family shrine’s priest. I decree that every ancestral evil covenant waiting to be executed over your life and children are shattered, in Jesus’ name.

Beloved, when a person or product is rebranded (born again), they get a new identity, such as when Saul, who was a former tormentor of Christians, had a life-transforming encounter with God and a new name (Paul). This is why I appeal to you this day; it does not matter how strong the forces of your family or the filthiness of your past are. Maybe you have murdered, stolen, been cursed, barren, sick, single, jobless, or marked for destruction. As today’s Bible text reads, if you accept Jesus into your life and allow Him to direct your affairs through His Spirit, you will become a new person. The old is gone!

Hymn: Jesus Saves – Priscilla J. Owens (1882)

1. Father, please forgive my sins (confess) and give me a new beginning (change my name and identity).

2. Wherever my name and children are marked for destruction, the blood of Jesus! Speak on our behalf.

1. Father, by Your mercy, do not let me end in hell.

2. Father, please replenish Your people, nation, and Church this season.

3. I terminate fear, premature death, and disappointment programmed for my life and my family at this month’s end!
