THE MINISTRY OF ANGELS
Exodus 23:20-23 (20) – “See, I am sending an angel ahead of you to guard you along the way and to bring you to the place I have prepared. (NIV)
Today’s Bible reading reveals that God promised to send an angel to the Israelites to guide them to the promised land. However, God warned the people to listen carefully and follow the angel’s lead. God can send His angels in their spiritual nature or as humans. For example, in Acts 12:1-19, an angel escorted Peter out of prison, while angels in the form of three men visited Abraham to deliver good news (Genesis 18). When Abraham saw the men, he was sensitive and said, “My lord, if you are pleased with me, don’t pass me by.”
Beloved, angels are enforcers of divine promises, and it is more reason why we must be discerning to engage them in action because they can guide and deliver us from trouble. As Abraham discerned, we need to understand the ministry of angels and be receptive to their operations. Let’s tap into their supernatural capability and send them ahead for those meetings, interviews, and appointments every day. They will make our paths straight. However, note that Satan often disguises himself as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). Therefore, we need a cordial relationship with the Holy Spirit to know God’s angels and command them to work in our favour!
Hymn: He Leadeth Me — Joseph H. Gilmore (1862)
1. Father, I thank You for life, salvation, health, provision, guidance, and a new day.
2. Father, I need an angel. Please command the angels to act concerning the fulfilment of my destiny.
1. Angels of God! Unsettle my divine helpers until they locate and assist me.
2. At this end-time, I refuse to be an instrument of perversion and destruction.
3. Pray for your nation and the Church!
4. Spend quality time praying in the Holy Ghost.
