THE KEYS OF HELL AND DEATH
Revelation 1:18 – I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death. (KJV)
We serve a living God and not a mortal, dead god. When Christ was crucified, death could not hold him down in the grave. Instead, as seen in today’s Bible reading, Jesus rose and confirmed that he possessed the keys of hell and death. What this means is that there is power in Christ’s resurrection and that this resurrection makes available to us the victory over death and hell. Death here does not necessarily mean physical lifelessness, but may also refer to spiritual emptiness. Therefore, I decree that any dryness in your walk with God has ended in Jesus’ name.
Resurrection in itself shows the magnificence of God’s power, and the great Apostle Paul made mention of this power of resurrection in Philippians 3:10. Paul craved for the knowledge of this type of power because having the understanding gives authority to operate in the realm that is higher than hell and death. This is why Paul performed exploits while still yearning for more of God.
Beloved, what has death and hell taken hold of in your life? If any! All you need is to know Jesus, His resurrection, and the power therein. Christ’s power has given us everything we require for a godly life (2 Peter 1:3). With this understanding, I encourage you to live in the reality of the supernatural to declare life over death, and set captives free everywhere you go. At the mention of the name of Jesus, darkness will fade away!
