THE HIGHER GROUND EXPERIENCE

Psalms 23:1-3 (2) – He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside peaceful waters. (GW)

The green pasture here represents a higher ground because it is a place where sheep are fed and rested. Christ is the good shepherd, and we are the sheep (John 10:11-18). He loves us and will position us where we would continuously be refreshed. The parable of the lost sheep in Luke 15:1-7, also makes it clear that God cares intimately for each of His sheep irrespective of their numbers. And this was what David referred to when He said: ‘The LORD is my shepherd. I am never in need.’ (Psalms 23:1– GW).

In Philippians 4:19, Apostle Paul testified to the sureness of God’s ability to provide all our desires. More so, as seen in our Bible reading, the great shepherd ensures that we enjoy rest on our higher ground because He lays us down and leads us beside the peaceful waters (Hebrew 13:20-21). Finally, the Lord shall fill every thirsting soul and guide them for His name to be glorified (Psalms 37:23-25).

Beloved, as we approach 2021, rest assured that you shall never be deprived of good things (Proverbs 13:25). Even amidst the global pandemic, the sheep will enjoy the peace and sound mind (John 14:27). Above all, as we walk in righteousness, everything we have lost to sin and ignorance shall be restored in multiples, in Jesus’ name (Joel 2:25-32). However, are you a sheep? If not! Repent, to enjoy the ‘higher ground’ experience (John 10:27-30).
