THE HEART THAT PANTS AFTER GOD
Psalms 42:1-2 (1)
As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. (NIV)
The state of the heart is essential in connecting to God. Whenever God wants to impart His people, you may find that someone is more receptive to God’s move than others. This is because the fellow’s heart is ready even before the encounter. Hence it becomes easier to connect with the supernatural flow.
To fine-tune our spiritual antenna to receive the things of heaven, we need to cultivate a just mind because God is interested in the condition of our hearts (Isaiah 29:13). The Psalmist knew the importance of maintaining a pure heart when he said, “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” (Psalm 51:10-KJV). Equally, we can cultivate the right heart by spending time in God’s presence (Matthew 14:23). Study Bible passages that guide your path and sing songs that centres on drawing closer to God. For example, as seen in our Bible reading, sing: “As the deer panteth for the waters so my soul longeth after you”. You can also sing:
“Lord I give You my heart
I give You my soul
I live for You alone
Every breath that I take
Every moment I’m awake
Lord have Your way in me.”
Beloved, there is no better time to seek God wholeheartedly than starting from this moment. Set apart a quality time today to be alone with God singing songs that focus on renewing your heart, and you shall receive the touch of the Holy Ghost in Jesus’ name. Amen!

- Father, purify my heart and mould it to conform to Your will.
- Holy Spirit, please fill my heart daily with inspiration and words in season.
