Psalms 145:16 – When you open your hand, you satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing (NLT).

In the 1986 FIFA World Cup quarter-final match between Argentina and England, Diego Maradona scored a handling goal. The goal was termed “The hand of God” because it was illegal under the football association rules due to Maradona using his hand. But because the referees did not have a clear view of the play and video assistant referee technology did not exist, the goal stood to give Argentina a 1–0 lead.

Though Maradona’s goal may not have counted in modern times, we can learn from it. The fact that the three referees did not spot the player’s use of his hand can be equated to God’s miraculous works. In today’s Bible reading, David testified to the ability of God’s hand to perform wonders. Sometimes, the Almighty does things that seem to negate human rules and comprehension, but all to the glory of His name. In 2 Kings 4:1–7, when Elisha told the widow to borrow many buckets and pour oil into them from the little she had, it sounded ridiculous. However, she obeyed, and the hand of God suspended the natural for the supernatural to take its cause.

Beloved, whatever your needs are, trust in God’s hand to provide for you. The hand of God is not too short—it can rescue you from any storm, whether in health, finances, marriage, or spiritual growth (Isaiah 59:1). Through prayer and faith, I encourage you to activate the manifestation of the hand of God in your life. You will experience the miraculous.

Hymn: Jesus Saves – Priscilla J. Owens (1882)

1. Father, I surrender to You. Please, carry me and sustain me on the journey of destiny.

2. Father, please calm every raging storm assigned to blow me off the radar of glory.

1. Bitter water in the cup of my life, career, and marriage, dry up!

2. Father, please save me if I am sinking spiritually and physically.

3. Father, let there be a manifestation of power through Your mighty hand in my family, the church, and the nations of the world.
