THE DECISION
Genesis 41:37-40 (38) – So Pharaoh asked them, “Can we find anyone like this man, one in whom is the spirit of God?” (NIV)
Decision making is a relevant action of human existence because whatever we are today or would become, is resultant from our choice. When Joseph faced sexual temptation, he made the right decision that eventually paid off. If he had fallen to the booby trap of Mrs Potiphar, he would have forfeited his glory (Genesis 39:6-20). On the other hand, Samson made an awful decision to fall in love with Delilah, and he died prematurely (Judges 16:4-31).
When temptations come, your decision and response will either bail you or condemn you to anguish and eternal misery. No wonder, many have lost their soul and peace due to wrong choices made (James 1:8). Life is a map to destiny; therefore, depending on our purpose, the journey could be short, clumsy or easy to fail. That is why we need a compass to help us in the way to make daily, career and marital decisions (Psalms 32:8). Moreover, as the year elapses, the decisions you make will determine the nature of your 2021.
Beloved, Joseph rose above obstacles and laid a glorious foundation for his future because he had the spirit of God, for which Pharaoh testified in our Bible reading. In whatever capacity that you need direction, the Holy Spirit can instruct you if you accept Jesus and yield to His leading (John 14:26). Deliberately wait on God for every move. The Holy Spirit will speak to you. Be Born Again!
