THE CHILDREN WILL PAY!
Isaiah 14:21
Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities. (KJV)
A noticeboard outside an eatery reads ‘Eat as much as you can, your grandchildren will pay’. Mr Oliver entered and ate all he could, got a toothpick and was relaxing when the waiter brought a huge bill. He laughed and pointed to the information, ‘Can’t you see, my grandchildren will pay’. The waiter replied, ‘This is not your bill; it’s your grandfather’s bill’. Mr Oliver fainted!
The greedy people feel calm so far they don’t have to bear the penalty of their actions. We must often examine ourselves to know how many destinies suffer for our atrocities. Sometimes, because we want to be in the good books of the public, we spoil others’ reputation and set them up to be punished for our errors. Indeed! There are consequences for every sin; God may be of mercy but also judges iniquity (2 Peter 2:9). Therefore, as seen in our Bible reading, don’t start the fire your unborn generations may never quench— the evil committed by an individual outlives him so that his offspring will continue to suffer the pain! (Numbers 14:18).
Beloved, have you any sins, or you are suffering from the mistakes of your ancestors? If yes! Surrender or rededicate your life to Jesus because as affirmed by Ezekiel 18:19, if you obey God’s instructions, you shall live and prosper!
