STAND FOR GOD!
Philippians 1:20-24 (21) – For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. (NIV)
To stand for something is, to firmly believe in it, no matter the consequences. This was demonstrated throughout the life of Apostle Paul. When he persecuted the Christians, he was an extremist until he encountered with Christ on his way to Damascus (Acts 9:1-6). After his transformation, he was equally diligent to his calling despite experiencing trials (2 Corinthians 11:23-28). Paul’s statement in our Bible reading evidenced that he stood for God and became one of the greatest apostles (1 Corinthians 15:9-10).
Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego also stood with God in the face of death (Daniel 3). These Hebrews refused to bow to the graven image and instead, boasted about their trust in the Lord (Psalm 20:7). No wonder, heaven moved for their deliverance and promotion! There is no way you will stand for God and remain mediocre. No way! It is those who stand for nothing that will fall for anything (Revelation 3:16), and great shall be their fall (Matthew 7:25-27).
Beloved, in who and what do you believe? Is it in God or mammon and weapons? (Matthew 6:24). If you still practise ‘bread and butter’ Christianity, you are not ready to pay the price of salvation. When the world mocks your condition and prayers, stick with God (Romans 8:31-39). Even in the stormy gale, wait on the Lord (Proverbs 24:10, 16). Stand up for Jesus and defend His testimony. You shall overcome! (Revelation 12:11)

1. Father, please give me the grace to be broken and to stand firm for You till the end.

2. Lord, by Your mercy, promote me beyond human comprehension.
3. Father, as a nation, church and family, we have toiled too long. Please, give us help!
