SOW: IT WILL COME BACK!
Galatians 6:7 – Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. (NIV)
Read: John 13:35
A poor farmer was trying to make a living for his family when he suddenly heard a cry from a nearby swamp, so he dropped his tools and ran over. There, he saw a half-sunk boy struggling to free himself, and he saved the lad. The boy’s father, an aristocrat, visited the farmer and said, “I want to repay you for saving my son’s life.” “No, I can’t accept any payment”, said the farmer. The aristocrat replied, “I will give your son a good education. If he is anything like his dad, he will grow up to be a man you can be proud of.”
In time, the farmer’s son graduated from medical school and became the discoverer of penicillin. A few years later, the aristocrat’s son had pneumonia, and it was the penicillin that cured him! The more exciting thing is that this aristocrat’s son went on to become the prime minister of the country.
Beloved, what goes around comes around. No act of love or effort, however small, is wasted. 2 Peter 1:5 encourages us to make every effort to add goodness to our faith. Doing good has a way of reaching into a weary heart and making it stronger, just as a candle will lose nothing by lighting another candle. As you selflessly give yourself to touching lives, be assured that God has a way of rewarding you. Keep putting out good; it will come back in multiple folds, even as seen in today’s Bible reading. Finally, never look down on anyone except when you are helping them up. Be the reason someone is saved and happy every day.
Hymn: Trust and Obey – John H. Sammis (1887)
1. Father, empower me to love and bless me with the resources to reach out to others.
1. Father, please direct my steps and lead me in the best path on a daily basis.
2. Powers that want to suffocate my destiny, scatter by fire!
3. Umbrella of sorrow, lack, and hatred stretched over my life, family, neighbours, and the Church, catch fire, in Jesus’ name.
GIVE YOUR LIFE TO JESUS!
