SOLUTION FOR MASTURBATION
Proverbs 25:28 – Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control. (NIV)

Yesterday, we learned about masturbation and a few issues surrounding it. Masturbation is a product of imagination and usually originates from immoral motives. Going by our key text today, masturbation is the opposite of the self-control that the Bible teaches. Anyone who lacks self-discipline and cannot caution themselves is like a bank without security gates or guards. Such an individual loses control of their emotions and is continuously exposed to the devil, who feeds their heart with destructive thoughts.
Romans 1:28 says, “Just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done.” This means that the knowledge of God is the solution to all kinds of unnatural acts. Self-control is a fruit of the Spirit that comes from knowing God and living a holy lifestyle (Galatians 5:22-23).
The ability to control oneself is also an act of obedience to God and the antidote to masturbation. This is because it involves intentional restraint, maintaining positive thoughts, and delaying self-pleasure. However, all these things cannot be possible except with the help of the Holy Spirit. If you desire to be set free from nursing immoral thoughts or other related sins, confess all to Jesus, surrender the channels of your heart to Him, and the Holy Spirit will take over to help you exercise self-control.
