RENEW YOUR MIND
Romans 12:2 – And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (KJV)
A zookeeper used a tiny rope to hold down a herd of elephants, and it was obvious that these gigantic creatures could escape, but they didn’t! So, a tourist asked the zookeeper why the animals were standing there and not attempting to break away. The man replied, “Well, when they were calves (babies), we used the same size of rope to tie them, and as they grew, they were conditioned to think that the rope could still hold them, so they never tried to run.”
Beloved, it’s remarkable to think that these animals have the power to enforce their freedom, yet because they believed they couldn’t, they are stuck. In the same way, many people know of God’s promises and have prayed so that they have been set free (John 8:36). But, because of their unbelief, they fail to activate the divine finished work.
In today’s Bible reading, Paul admonishes us to renew our minds in Christ because the mind is the soil of our faith. Until we change our thoughts and adapt our lifestyle to the supernatural, we may continue to live in the past and not fulfil God’s perfect will. The Lord’s will for us is to enjoy newness, hope, and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). Live by the word, believe it, pray continually, and thank God for what He has done. You have overcome every boundary.
