RENEW YOUR HUNGER (2)
Psalms 81:10 – I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it. (KJV)
A boy was offered a candy jar to pick as many candies as he wants. The child stood there looking at his dad until the father reached into the jar to get him a handful of candies. The dad later asked, “Why did you refuse to grab the sweets”. The boy said, “Because I know that your hand is bigger than mine.”
The hand of God can fill our thirst and hunger. However, a man’s trust can only be a measure of his capacity to believe in the benefactor, just as the boy’s confidence was rooted in the knowledge of his dad’s ability to act. In the same way, our faith in God shapes our reality. That is, the level at which we hunger for Christ and His power would depend on our experience of Him (2 Peter 3:18). For example, David was a man after God’s heart, and his expression in Psalms 145:16 gives an insight into His perception of God. He said, “When you open your hand, you satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing.” (NLT).
David’s declaration and our Bible reading confirm the vastness of God and His ability to satisfy us. No human or science can quantify the depth of power and riches of the Almighty. He is the creator of the universe, and there is no searching for His understanding (Isaiah 40:28). Therefore, with this knowledge, our hunger for Christ must include a deliberate trust in the supernatural, through which God’s hand can supply all we need. Cry out to Him for an infilling and renewal of strength. He is able!

1. Father, help me grow daily in Your knowledge to know that You can satisfy my hunger.

1. Count your blessings and praise the Lord.
2. This year! My family, friends, the Church and I shall not eat the bread of sorrow.
3. Blood of Jesus, wash out every contamination in my bodily and spiritual blood.
4. My head, environment, children and handiwork, reject evil manipulation.
