REMEMBER YOUR CREATOR
Ecclesiastes 12:11 – Words from the wise are like sharp goads. When these sayings are written down and saved, they can be used to guide people, just as a shepherd uses a sharp stick to make his sheep go the right way. (ERV)
Read: Ecclesiastes 12:1-14
Don’t let the excitement of youth cause you to forget God. Honour Him now before you grow old! Remember God before the sunlight, moon, rain clouds, and stars get dim in your fading eyes. Take God seriously before your shoulders and legs start to bend and tremble. Remember Him before your teeth stop grinding. Remember God before the door to life’s opportunities is closed and the sound of work fades. Now you rise at the tweeting of birds, but all these sounds will soon grow faint; so, acknowledge God today!
Remember the Lord before you start becoming afraid of falling and worrying about the danger in the streets. Recognise your maker before your hair turns white and you walk without energy when you no longer have sexual desire. Oh! Remember God before you die, when the mourners will weep at your funeral. Yes, remember your creator now while you are young! Don’t wait until the water pot is smashed and the well’s pulley is broken. For then the dust will return to the earth and your spirit to God, who gave it!
Beloved, study the above sayings, but be careful about other teachings. People are always writing books, and too much study will tire you. Therefore, here is my conclusion: ‘Fear God and obey His commands, for this is everyone’s duty. God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad’.
PRAYER
Hymn: Work, for the Night, Is Coming — Anna L. Coghill (1854)
1. Father, help me remember You always, and that now is the time of salvation and fulfilment of purpose!
2. Father, if need be! Please give me another opportunity to serve You and invest my time wisely (mention).
(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)
1. Holy Spirit! Terminate pride and procrastination from my life’s schedule.
2. Father, let all be well with my soul, family, neighbours, nation, and Church.
3. Spend quality time praying in the Holy Ghost.
