IS LOVE ENOUGH FOR A GODLY RELATIONSHIP? (2)
Matthew 22:36-38 (37) – Jesus replied: ‘“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ (NIV)
When God’s love is in action, evils will subside because love covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8). Love also breeds respect (Ephesians 5:21). Where there is affection, there is mutuality— they go hand in hand. No wonder, Amos 3:3 says, ‘Can two work together except they agree?’ It is impossible because a relationship built on vague foundation will not stand. If it stands, it won’t last! The same principle applies to our Father in heaven.
For example, Jesus loved His Father and boldly declared that ‘I and my Father are one’ (John 10:30). His bonding with God was not only in words but reflected in His lifestyle (John 14:9). Similarly, as Christians, we ought to showcase God’s glory and the gospel, if we love Him (Matthew 10:33). As seen in today’s Bible reading, we must be intimate with God and walk in His will for us!
Beloved, merely talking about love is not enough to please God. Instead, it is in the activeness of our love for Him, that matters. These include holiness, obedience, soul-winning, giving, and doing things that are right (Philippians 4:8). Finally, when one is in love, communication is kept alive. Likewise, with God, prayer is that wireless connection which must not be disconnected. Talk to the Lord always about everything. He cares and hears! (Jeremiah 29:12-13).
PRAYER
Hymn: Christian, seek not yet repose — Charlotte Elliott (1836)
1. Father, all I need to serve You better, please release to me.
(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)
1. Any power, vowing that my life will never get balanced. Lose your balance and scatter!
2. Environmental powers reporting me to external forces, expire!
3. Flood of carnality and perdition, sweeping away my nation, individuals and the church, dry up!
GOD BLESS, YOU!
