Colossians 1:27 – To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: (KJV)

The city of Cambridge in England brings to mind the importance of value. Cambridge does not quite have metropolitan status because it is very calm and has an organic environment, yet it is a popular city.

Cambridge is known and respected because it is home to the third-best university in the world. There are other top cities, like London, but Cambridge is more respected when it comes to leadership, innovation, and knowledge dissemination. This is the case with Bethlehem. Bethlehem is famous and holds value today because Jesus was born there. Without Christ’s birth, no one may have heard of Bethlehem.

Beloved, you must cherish your worth and improve your capacity in whatever field you are in. You may seem irrelevant, but your value can launch you into stardom and the fulfilment of your purpose in God. Your value, at home or in the circular, will set you apart and draw the world’s attention to God, just as nations acknowledge Cambridge because of the value of its university.

The greatest value that anyone can ever have is in Jesus. Today’s Bible reading reveals that Christ in you is the hope of glory! When you have the Holy Spirit, you possess the power to increase your value. So don’t look down on your family, your relationship with God, your friends, your career, or your gifts. Instead, try to make them better. Always remember that, like the cities of Cambridge and Bethlehem, your worth is in the values that you hold. Keep working on yourself; you are adding value to your potential.
