HOW IS LIFE?
John 16:33 – “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (NIV)
No matter your condition, the certainty about life is that trials are inevitable. However, I write to inform you that there is hope for you if you do not give up (Proverbs 24:10).
In a small village, an old donkey fell into a deep well. The farmer who owns the donkey tried all he could to rescue it but failed, so he gathered the villagers to bury the animal. The poor donkey began to cry until it suddenly stopped, and guess what? It was out of the well. The people marvelled, but the old donkey was wise because it used the dirt poured on it as a ladder out of the well. The more rubbish threw at it, the faster the donkey shook its body, so they went below and stood on them until it got out.
The experience of humanity is similar to that of this donkey. As seen in today’s Bible reading, life cannot always be 100% rosy because this is not our home. Every man will have their share; even Christ was betrayed and crucified (Luke 22). Therefore, be ready to fight through your salvation, prayers and knowledge of God (1 Timothy 6:12). Also important is that you must be determined to rise from the past and pains because “It’s not whether you get knocked down, it’s whether you get up.”– Vince Lombardi.
Beloved, if we would learn to live as the wise old donkey to take every challenge as stepping stones, success is sure. Refuse to give up! God knows your issues; He shall deliver you (Psalms 34:19).
Hymn: Jesus Saves — Priscilla J. Owens (1882)
1. Father, please give me the grace and courage through my journey in life.
1. Lord, help me always to see the positives in all situations.
2. Father, I repent today! Let Your blood erase every stain from my past and recent atrocities.
3. I decree to my life, family and the Church, move in the right direction!
