HOPE FOR TODAY
2 Corinthians 4:8-10 (9) – We are hunted down but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed. (NLT)
The experience of Paul as chronicled in our Bible reading gives courage to the present generation of believers. For the sake of the gospel, Paul had a taste of persecution numerous times. He suffered shipwreck, imprisonment, and beatings, yet he never threw in the towel. Paul eventually became one of the greatest apostles that ever lived (1 Corinthians 15:9-10).
The life of Joyce Meyer is another source of encouragement. As a child, Joyce’s father raped her at least two hundred times. But she refused to be weighed down by the abuse, and today, Joyce is an impactful gospel ambassador of our time. She is blessed with a husband, four children, and many grandchildren. God can turn a messy situation into a message of hope and transformation.
Beloved, the typical life of a Christian is filled with temptations and trials from both the physical and spiritual realms. However, we have the “overcoming grace” that is already made available to us through Christ (John 16:33). It was by this grace that Paul prevailed. Therefore, let this assurance fuel your vehicle of faith to actively persevere like Paul and become what God wants you to be, as Joyce Meyer did. No matter your circumstances at this moment, don’t give up! Instead, study the Word, pray fervently, work hard and let God’s glory shape your reality (Romans 8:18-19).
PRAYER
Hymn: His Eye Is on the Sparrow — Civilla D. Martin (1905)
1. Come what may, Father, I declare my love for You. Please, help me with Your grace and might.
(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)
1. Father, I raise my hands in total surrender. Please, carry through the storms of life.
2. Holy Spirit, minister grace and sound mind to me, my family, the leaders, and the church.
3. Sing songs of victory as led and until you are encouraged.
BLESSED DAY AHEAD!
