HELP FROM MAN OR ABOVE?
Psalms 121:1-8 (1) – I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? (NKJV)
The reason that fellow has not helped you is that God has not put it in their heart to help. No matter how small or big the assistance you ever received, if God did not prompt the helper, it would not be possible. Because the king’s heart is like a river in God’s hands– he directs it wherever he pleases (Proverbs 21:1).
Have you often been disappointed by friends, family, and the government? If yes! Be encouraged by the story of the man at the pool of Bethesda for 38 years. This man had no one to assist him, but when Christ showed up, he was made whole (John 5:1-15). No wonder, David had the understanding that ‘help only comes from above and not abroad’ when he proclaimed those words in our Bible reading.
Beloved, irrespective of your situation today, channel your focus to heaven because it is only God that knows where your shoe pinches (Hebrews 12: 2). Stop blaming man or nature for your failures. Instead, pray that the Lord would move the heart of men in your favour, because ‘without God’s inspiration, your helper’s aspiration is meaningless!’
Hymn: Leaning on the Everlasting Arms — Elisha A. Hoffman & Anthony J. Showalter (1887)
1. Lord, put it in the heart of men to assist me and direct my path to the place of rest.
1. Father, I am weak, but Thou art mighty; limited, but You are limitless. Please, help my destiny!
2. Father, sustain my family, the church, and nations, now and always.
3. Lord, please step into every area of my life, today (mention).
BE BORN AGAIN!
