HEALING FOR YOUR DAMAGES

Isaiah 43:14-19 (18) – “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. (NIV)

Research shows that people involved in illegal businesses such as drugs are, in most cases, victims of a broken home or abusive relationship. A growing number of individuals are vulnerable to assaults in school, work, family and the streets. For example, a mother was battered by her husband in the presence of their children (Ephesians 5:22-33), and a child was nicknamed nosy by his father because he had a long nose (Colossians 3:21). These experiences can ruin a fellow’s self-esteem and rob them of actualising their God-given potentials.

Have you been damaged so that you have lost your peace and confidence? Perhaps you were sexually molested, bullied, exploited, abandoned, or you have been abusing yourself by fornicating, masturbating and harbouring suicidal thoughts, among other reprobate activities (1 Corinthians 6:15-20). Now is the time for a change — forgiving yourself and your abusers (Matthew 18:21-22). Though it may seem painful, with the help of the Holy Spirit, you can let go of the past and free up your mind to retain God’s love (Ephesians 2:4). With these done, you shall regain your originality and fulfil your destiny.

Finally, be courageous and hopeful. As seen in our Bible reading, God is about to do a new thing — your tomorrow is glorious, and your best is emerging! Therefore, avoid the company of those who downgrade you because anytime you look down at yourself, you belittle God.

PRAYER OF DECREE

Hymn: I Must Tell Jesus — Elisha A. Hoffman (1894)

1. I (Name) receive the grace to forgive ‘me’ and the evils done against me. From today, I choose to live one day at a time. I am forging gloriously ahead because a new me has emerged, and I shall fulfil my destiny. So help me, God!

(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)

1. I eject every satanic deposit in the bank of my destiny.

2. Holy Spirit, please set me free from the power and control of false superstitions.

3. Lord, purge us as individuals, family and the Church to deliver us from reprobative actions or tendencies.

YOU ARE LOVED!
