GOD CAN USE THE FOOLISH
1 Corinthians 1:27 – But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. (NIV)
A child fell ill and had to be rushed to the hospital. The mother called a neighbour who said his car had no fuel. She rang the pastor, who replied that he had some guest ministers and could not leave them. Therefore, because she couldn’t afford to lose her only child, she carried him by herself but couldn’t move fast enough. On her way, the woman begged for assistance, but everyone just stood there and watched as she fell several times.
The woman kept moving until a madman noticed her and took the boy from her. She couldn’t talk but pointed in the direction of the hospital. The crazy man carried the boy on his shoulder and said, “All will be well” as he hurried. On sighting the madman, the doctor knew something was wrong and attended to the boy immediately. Ten minutes later, the mother arrived, and the doctor broke the news: “If your son was brought five minutes later, he would have died.”
Beloved, God can use anybody or anything to get to you. No human can do all things by themselves; everybody needs somebody to get somewhere. As today’s Bible reading confirms, God uses the feeble to confound the mighty. Like the madman, the person you despise today could be your saviour tomorrow. Even when men fail, God can transform your disappointment into a divine appointment. Never take God out of your life’s equation. Pray earnestly and allow Him to lead the way. You will arrive at your destination!
