Psalms 113:7 – He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill; (KJV)

Read: 1 Peter 5:10

A local bread seller left her family in the village to make a living in the city. The mother of two who couldn’t speak English would go about doing her business worth $20, only to make a profit of $1. One day, she coincidentally walked past a photo shoot session with a smile on her face and a tray of bread on her head as she was snapped. The picture went viral, and the famous photographer felt that the bread hawker could be a good model.

The local woman was presented with several modelling contracts and featured in television advertisements worth thousands of dollars. She became a star, so much so that she got a luxury house and a scholarship to study English. In her interview on CNN, the lady shed tears, saying her family is still in shock at seeing her on television. What a change of story!

This story confirms what today’s Bible reading says: that God can transform a nonentity into a star, just as He also did for Joseph, who rose from the pit to the palace. What are those downgraded jobs, local businesses, or talents you have that are yet to be uncovered? I encourage you to keep going because very soon, God will announce you.

Another point to note is divine direction. If the bread seller had not walked by during the photoshoot or been cheerful when the camera captured her, no one would have discovered her qualities. Beloved, irrespective of your circumstances, always be happy and optimistic because no condition is permanent.
