GET UP!
John 16:33 – “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (NIV)
Read: Proverbs 24:10
No matter the condition, the one certainty about life is that trials are inevitable. However, there is hope in Christ, so don’t give up!
There are lessons to be learned from an old donkey that fell into a deep well. The owner tried all he could to rescue it but failed, so he gathered the villagers to bury the animal. The poor donkey began to cry until it suddenly stopped and found its way out of the well. The people were surprised, but the old donkey was wise enough because it used the dirt poured into the well as a stepping stone. The more rubbish thrown at the donkey, the faster it shook its body, so they went below and stood on them until it got out.
The human experience is similar to that of this donkey. As seen in today’s Bible reading, life cannot always be rosy because the world is not home. Until Jesus returns, everyone will have their share of issues in life; even Christ was not spared because He Himself was betrayed and crucified.
The good news is that the children of God can prevail through salvation, a life of prayer, and walking in the knowledge of God. With these, people can rise from their past and current pains because what matters is not whether they get knocked down but whether they get up again! Learn to live like the wise old donkey and take every challenge as a stepping stone. Refuse to give up! God knows the issues; He shall bring deliverance.
PRAYER
Hymn: Jesus Saves — Priscilla J. Owens (1882)
1. Father, please give me grace and courage through my journey in life.
(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)
1. Father, I repent today! Let Your blood erase every stain from my past and recent atrocities.
2. Father, help me to always see the positives in all situations.
3. I decree that my life, family, and the Church shall move in the right direction!
