FROM “A NOBODY TO A DIVINE CHAMPION”
1 Samuel 2:8-10 – He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes and has them inherit a throne of honor. “For the foundations of the earth are the Lord’s; on them he has set the world. (vs 8 – NIV)
Today’s Bible reading reveals the powerful ability of God to transform situations, regardless of the imminent difficulty. Only God can uplift the neglected from obscurity to the limelight. The Book of Genesis tells the story of Joseph, who was hated by his brothers so that they sold him into slavery. But God elevated Joseph from the level of bondage to become the prime minister of Egypt (Acts 7:9–10). As we proceed into the new year, when the enemies wage war, do not worry but pray, and God will use them to pave the way for your rise.
In 1 Samuel 16, David was a forgotten little shepherd when God prompted Samuel to ask if anyone was still left in the house after Jesse (David’s father) presented all the other sons to be anointed ahead of David. But God brought David from the backyard to become king. Beloved, where are you now that it seems the world has forgotten you? Perhaps you are from a poor background or have struggled to make ends meet in 2021. I would like you to get excited and hold tight to God because you are becoming a divine champion. Like Joseph and David, God is building you for the realm of champions, and your promotion is coming in 2022. Congratulations!
