Romans 15:13 – Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, for you to abound in hope in the power of the Holy Spirit. (BLB)

There is a void in every man—a vacuum that cannot be filled with money or strength. If earthly things could fill the emptiness, the rich would have direct access to eternity while the strong will not have to die. At first, God created man to be fruitful, multiply and fellowship with Him (Genesis 3:8). However, after Adam and Eve’s disobedience got them naked and vulnerable, God clothed them with coats of skin; yet, sin destroyed God’s original plan for humankind so that man was assigned to labour and die eventually (Genesis 3:17-24).

Death (spiritual and physical) became the penalty for sin (Genesis 2:16-17; Romans 6:23). But, God realised this void and saw that man would only be subjected to Satan; therefore, He began a restoration plan by sacrificing His son for humanity (John 3:16; 1 John 3:16). Meanwhile, the lamb from whose skin God made the coats to cover Adam and Eve prophetically represented Christ, who became the sacrificial lamb for our redemption (John 1:29).

Beloved, the summary of the matter is that Satan strategises and uses sin to separate us from God (Isaiah 59:1-2), which is the foundation of the ‘void in man’s soul’. The good news is that God wants a reunion with the lost. He gave Jesus and the Holy Spirit, as seen in our Bible reading, to fill our emptiness, guilt and hopelessness. Until we get back to the source (God), the thirst in our soul won’t be quenched. If need be, accept Christ today—ACT (Revelation 3:20).

Song: Holy Spirit Move Me Now – Vinesong

1. Lord Jesus, please refill me inside out!

1. Every mountain of unrest and impossibilities, crash down!

2. Peace like a river, flow into my life, family, nations and the church.

3. I decree, that my bank of wealth, glory and inspiration shall never be empty.
