1 Samuel 30:6-8 (6B) – But David found strength in the LORD his God. (NIV)
A human is made of spirit, soul, and the body, which has several organs that work together. Whenever there is a problem, physical and spiritual wellness is affected, causing an emotional imbalance. For example, the increase in suicide can be traced to issues which the perpetrators could not cope with; so that they took their lives thinking it would end their miseries. The truth is that their journey to damnation has just begun because they will spend their days lamenting ‘Had I know?’
It is important to identify the cause of emotional unrest. Whatever makes the mind to faint and believe that death or self-harm gives lasting peace must be defeated. The life of Job teaches us some lessons because he had every reason to kill himself, especially after his wife advised him to curse God and die (Job 2:9-10). But, this man refused and waited on God. Likewise, when David was greatly distressed in our Bible reading, he never considered suicide; instead, he encouraged himself in the Lord.
Beloved, are you having suicidal thoughts or suffering emotionally? Perhaps, you are overwhelmed by situations or experiencing heartbreaks from the government and people you trust. When we focus on earthly things, it ultimately ends in dissatisfaction, which affects our thoughts. You can seek counsel. However, God can heal your heart and wounds because the peace He offers is incomparable (John 14:27). If you make His word your reality, you will live beyond the temporary pains, and great shall be your rest. Therefore, come to Jesus today; He will save you! (Matthew 11:28-30).
Hymn: Jesus Saves — Priscilla J. Owens (1882)
1. Holy Spirit, please stabilise my emotions and give me peace.
1. The good that my hands started shall be completed this year.
2. My inner man; receive fire!
3. Satanic raiders of joy in my life, home, nation and the church; destroy yourself.
BE BORN AGAIN!
