DON’T QUIT
Ecclesiastes 9:4 – For to him that is joined with all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion. (ERV)
The founder of Alibaba, Jack Ma, had a series of rejection letters from Harvard University. He submitted about 30 job applications but was rejected every time. Jack Ma’s difficulties continued after he started Alibaba. The company didn’t make any profit in its first three years. All the investors pulled out, and the company almost went bankrupt. But this didn’t discourage Jack. His determination later yielded great results that we know of today. Alibaba is currently worth $166 billion (US dollars).
Perhaps your current circumstances are similar to that of this Chinese billionaire. You might have experienced delays, disappointment, and unpleasant news despite your efforts. But according to our Bible reading, there is hope for you because there is life in you. When there is still breath, possibilities abound. No matter your status or weakness, don’t quit trying. Refuse to shut down the business or discard that little idea. Never leave that marriage. Ecclesiastes 7:8 says, “better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof.” In other words, what you are going through now has an expiry date, and it cannot be compared with the glory ahead.
Beloved, I encourage you to be sensitive to God’s word. Live by His promises to you, and always remember that you are God’s number one priority. If you accept Jesus into your life, He will direct your path and perfect your glorious future and eternity (Colossians 1:27).
