DON’T GIVE UP!
Proverbs 24:10 – Don’t give up and be helpless in times of trouble. (CEV)
Read: Isaiah 43:2
There was a man from whom nobody expected anything good. This is because his mother gave birth to him in sorrow and named him Jabez. However, it is recorded in 1 Chronicles 4:9-10 that this man refused to dismiss himself but rather cried out to God, and his story changed. There was another man who was impotent and dwelled beside the pool of Bethesda for 38 years because he had no one to assist him. Still, he never gave up, so one day he had an encounter with Jesus, and that settled his situation (John 5:1-9).
I believe God for anyone who is on the verge of giving up, the power of God will change your story to glory, in Jesus’ name. The fact about life is that everyone will occasionally pass through hard times. It could be a foundational issue such as that of Jabez or a physical circumstance like that of the man at the pool of Bethesda. However, what made the difference between their situation and their breakthrough is that they never gave up!
A vital step to experiencing breakthroughs in times of difficulty is not giving up. Today’s Bible reading equates giving up with weakness in strength. When a person is weak, there is nothing they can achieve, not even effective and fervent prayer. When it seems that the wall is crashing, look up to God and see beyond the present challenges. Pray more and have faith; there will be light at the end of the tunnel.
Be determined not to lose hope. That situation is part of the process leading to glory. Keeping going!
Hymn: All the way my Saviour leads me — Fanny Crosby (1875)
1. Thank God for good and bad times.
2. Father, give me the grace to never give up on myself or my circumstances.
1. Every evil altar sponsoring commotion, failure, and hardship in my life, catch fire!
2. Father, please relocate me from the valley of shame and dryness to the mountain top!
3. Spend quality time praying for the discouraged and the brokenhearted.
THE JOY OF THE LORD IS YOUR STRENGTH
