Hebrews 12:1 – Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, (NIV)

A man was shutting down his computer when it gave a notice: “Do you want to shut down? Other people’s work might be lost.” He paused a bit to reread it, and series of questions ran through his mind until the Holy Spirit spoke: “Do you think it is all about yourself alone? Do you believe your computer is made only for you? Do you think you can just shut down, leaving others’ work at risk? Don’t you know many destinies are attached to yours and how great the problem your shutting down might cause? You cannot decide to live anyhow.”

Indeed, our existence is not about us alone. Many lives are directly and indirectly attached to you, so don’t think you are valueless. No! You carry in you the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27). Therefore, you cannot shut down anyhow and turn up anytime. Consider what risk your shutting down would cause others. If the great men of old (Elijah, Daniel, Apostle Paul and Christ) had shut down in their days, what would be our faith today? These men pressed on amidst their challenges, and that is why we read their testimony. More importantly, as seen in our Bible reading, they are our witnesses cheering us all the way.

Beloved, maybe you are already hibernating or shut down, return to your source (God), or if it seems you are dry and not feeling the presence of the Holy Spirit anymore. Just don’t shut down; cry to God for help and revival (Psalms 85:6-8). He shall reinforce you!
