DIVINE ENDORSEMENT

Matthew 5:3-10 (5) – Blessed are the humble, for they will inherit the earth. (CSB)

Success originates from God because no man can excel without divine favour. In Luke 18:9-14, we see an example of a Pharisee and the tax collector who went to pray. The Pharisee prayed aloud condemning the other man while the tax collector humbly asked God for mercy. The prominent Pharisee boasted that he fasted twice weekly and paid his tithes, yet he got disqualified. Instead, it was the humble one that received heaven’s approval. I decree! This week, you shall receive the meekness and power for excellence, in Jesus’ name.

Beloved, going by the above scenario, ‘favour is not a product of affluence but grace’. Today’s Bible reading also confirms that it is only those with a meek heart that will prosper. In other words, we must remain humble before God and man, like the tax collector and never seek the downfall of others because “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” (James 4:6B). Above all, always give thanks for your present status and pray for elevation on every side (Psalms 3:3). It shall be well with you!

PRAYER

Hymn: Showers of Blessing — Daniel W. Whittle (1883)

1. Holy Spirit, open my eyes to the secrets of divine favour.

2. Father, please let Your mercy single me out for glorious assistance.

(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)

1. Favour of God! Qualify me today for ceaseless wonders.

2. I decree! From now on, I shall be preferred for greater engagements and honour.

3. Every power subduing my glory and that of my family, friends and the church, scatter!
