DEAR HUSBAND!
1 Corinthians 7:1-7 (3) – The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. (NIV)
What makes a husband is not the marriage certificate but about the devout love for his wife and fulfilment of the marital obligations as noted in our Bible reading. No wonder, Apostle Paul admonishes that husbands must love their wives as their (own) body like Christ loved the church because he who loves his wife loves himself (Ephesians 5:21-33).
The emphasis on ‘Christ and the church to the husband’s responsibility’ depicts that whatever Jesus represents should be the guiding principles of the man’s conduct to his family. Christ loves, forgives, heals, fed many, led by example, and died for us when we were sinners (Romans 5:8). All these, among others, must reflect in the spouse’s character to the household!
Dear husband, do you genuinely adore and provide for your wife and children? Do you spend time with the family, or you rather excuse yourself from the responsibilities; leaving the wife to it? Know it that, anyone who fails to cater for their household denies the faith. In other words, such fellow does not replicate Christ’s legacy and therefore, he is worse than an unbeliever (1 Timothy 5:8). God is watching, and we will give an account as the head of the home (Ecclesiastes 12:14).
PRAYER
Hymn: More About Jesus – Eliza E. Hewitt (1887)
1. Father, please make me responsible and to love You, my wife, and family from the heart.
(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)
1. Whether the devil likes it or not, I shall wear my garment of glory!
2. Battles that weakens the hand and disgraces the family; scatter in my life!
3. We pull down satanic walls erected against families and the church.
YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR WIFE!
