CONTINUE IN PRAYER

Luke 18:1-8 (3) – In that city there was also a widow who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Give me justice.’ (GW)

Today’s Bible reading illustrates the story of a widow who needed justice. To get justice, the widow would usually disturb the judge, who neither feared God nor man. In order to avoid the woman’s disturbance, the judge honoured the widow’s request and was fair to her. If a judge who does not believe in God or care about people could respond to the widow’s persistence, how much more will God bring His people justice as soon as they call on Him?

Beloved, it is reassuring to know that God is always available to help. He knows about your worries and secret tears. He is not unjust to forget your labour in good deeds and in fasting and prayers. He will work things out perfectly for you in due season. However, you must continue to seek God like the widow never allowed the judge to rest until she got what she wanted. Tarrying in the place of prayer is a source of power. Nobody spends time in the presence of God and remains the same. Endeavour to invest in prayer to unlock the dimensions of God’s blessings for your life.

In our key text, Christ also asked whether He would find faith on earth when He returned. Faith is an essential spice in the delicacies of heaven and the currency by which you can draw from God. Without faith, nothing moves in the spiritual or physical world. I urge you to put your faith into action and wait on God. You will experience answers to your prayers. When it happens, give thanks to God, because thanksgiving is the secret to more.
