COME OVER TO MACEDONIA!
Acts 16:6-15 (9) – That night Paul had a vision: A man from Macedonia in northern Greece was standing there, pleading with him, “Come over to Macedonia and help us!” (NLT)
Studying today’s Bible reading, the Holy Spirit had prevented Paul and Silas from preaching in the provinces of Asia and Bithynia. But at night, they received a vision about where they ought to be, and they immediately left for Macedonia with divine conviction. Even though Paul and Silas intended to preach, they still needed to be led by the Holy Ghost, who sees beyond the ordinary (John 16:13-14).
A primary source of the world’s problems is a lack of clarity and misjudgements. As human beings, we predict and base our decisions on history— chain of events and outcomes, but that might not be God’s purpose per time. If Paul and Silas had followed their instinct to enter Asia and Bithynia, perhaps Lydia of Philippi and her family would not have accepted Jesus .
Beloved, when it seems that the road is blocked and the dusk sets, there can be a way out! At that moment, when you are at a crossroad of decision-making about marriage, ministry or career, the Lord can inspire you. Yes! Because something is morally upright does not mean it is spiritually sustaining. Morality, though essential, should not dictate God’s plan for us but the Spirit whereby we fulfil our purpose (Romans 8:28).
‘Aligning our destiny to heaven’s timetable involves deliberate sensitivity to hear and move as instructed. Before making that move, pray again and listen because God might be calling you to Macedonia and not Asia or Bithynia.’ (John 10:27)
PRAYER
Hymn: He leadeth me – Joseph H. Gilmore (1862)
1. Father, if it is NOT Your will, let it fail. Please lead me!
(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)
1. Dark towers, aiding spiritual attacks against my life; crumble!
2. Lord, please show me my divine calling, talents and identity.
3. Error of confusion, organised for me, nation and the church; fade away!
BE BORN AGAIN!
