CAN YOU PAY?
Genesis 39:1-23 (12)She caught him by his garment, saying, “Lie with me.” But he left his garment in her hand and fled and got out of the house. (ESV)
A price is a condition for achieving an objective, and everybody desires to succeed, but there is a ‘price for glory’. Even when God has promised us a glorious future, we still must work towards it. The example of Joseph in our text comes to mind because despite having dreams of greatness, he paid the price by rejecting the advances of the promiscuous Mrs Potiphar. Note that Joseph declined the offer, not for his master but because he feared God!
Further, Pastor Faith, a university graduate married and stood by Bishop David Oyedepo (polytechnic graduate) when he had nothing. They so much lacked that they once ate baby cereals for days. The woman paid the price while they held on to God, and today, the Lord has beautified their lives.
Beloved, in your home, can you pay the price of patience and loyalty? In the post-COVID-19, are you ready to invest more in your business? Dear student, you must study harder (2 Timothy 2:15). Perhaps you are seeking spiritual growths; holiness and consistency with the Holy Spirit are of necessity. Finally, if you are going to accomplish your dreams and divine assignments this year, there are conditions to be met. Nothing will come easy except through diligence, prayers, faith and perseverance (James 1:2-4).
PRAYER
Hymn: Higher Ground – Johnson Oatman, Jr. (1898)
1. Thank You, Lord, for a new day and month of perfection.
2. I receive divine grace for righteous-living, faithfulness and accountability.
3. Whatever it will take to fulfil my goals for 2020. Lord, please grant them unto me!
(MIDNIGHT PRAYER)
1. Spend quality time to praise God.
2. Father, empower me mightily for Your glory.
YOU SHALL SING FOR JOY!
